Yesterday, Saturday( Jan 10), the moon was at perigee, the closest point to earth on its orbit. It was said to be the brightest and biggest one in 2009. Sure enough, these pictures was taken this morning, three hours before our first 10-mile, 10 am run of the year. Enjoy! When the Crissy tides pulled by the gravity of the moon, we too experienced our first low tide of the day - Roshan's knee was hurting during the halfway mark (with intermittent burning pain), and I discovered a $60 parking ticket on my windshield at the end of our run...
Not so much did I finally learn that parking meters are not free on Sunday along the Embarcadero, but most important, what tenacious of a person Roshan truely is. With five remaining miles, when the excruciating pain on her knee seemed unbearable at times, Roshan kept on moving and eventually finished the course with me. Kudos to Roshan! Don't worry, she is find and will have her knee x-rayed; we will keep you posted on the results.
On a much brighter side, we received two more new pledges and four followers on our blogs. A big shoutout to Sarathon, Eddie, Yvea, Nicole, and Donnie for President (do we know you Mr. President?!). As you might be getting ready for your moon dance, here's a fun fact: The moon is moving away as we now breath, by about 1.6 inches (4 centimeters) a year. Eventually this drift will force the moon to take 47 days to circle our world.
Beam on,
Roshan and Chee
